Thomas A. Gregor, President
Tom has more than 35 years of experience in healthcare financial administration. He graduated from the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana with both a B.A in Finance and a Master´s degree in Accounting Science. Tom started his career as a CPA specializing in hospital audits, focusing on the maximization of net revenues. Tom later served as the Senior Vice-President of Finance & CFO of the hospital division for a large healthcare system which included both a large teaching hospital and a 200 physician group. As the financial leader of the hospital division, Tom led the managed-care contracting for the organization. He also served as the Chief Financial Officer for a stand-alone for-profit multi-specialty physician group with more than 90 physicians and 400 employees across six locations. His extensive experience in the industry provides him in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing the revenue cycle and healthcare finance. Using this insight, Tom has driven Parathon Recovery Services to provide custom technology-focused programs to enhance revenue recovery and supplement internal revenue capture initiatives.

Kathie Bender, Chief Operating Officer
Kathie leads the operations, development and communications at Parathon Recovery Services. She is also responsible for overseeing and supporting the management team. Kathie brings over 25 years’ experience of guiding cross functional initiatives through collaboration and leadership. She has also acquired vast knowledge which includes inpatient hospital based case management/utilization review and healthcare revenue recovery. Kathie is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison and she is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Management. Throughout her career she has built an expert and dedicated team of clinicians, coders and insurance professionals that understand contracts, underpayments, and denials from both a clinical and technical standpoint working with both government and commercial payors. Kathie partners with and consults clients on how to reduce denials and maximize reimbursement. She encourages every team to recognize and identify opportunities for process improvements and creating efficiencies. Kathie continues to bring together the Parathon Recovery Services team and clients in order to develop new methods for successful revenue recovery.

Juan Leonor, VP Client Services and Business Development
Juan has over 25 years’ experience in customer service and financial management, the last 20 totally dedicated to several aspects of Patient Financial Services (PFS) Management, including all areas of patients revenue and technology development. Juan started his career in healthcare as a Patient Account Rep, a position which led to PFS IT Support Systems Manager and successful implementation of computerized financial upgrades for a multi facility system. He also served as PFS Assistant Director of a multi hospital system, and successfully completed implementation of an upfront collection process, as well as effectively managing billing and collection departments to reduce billed AR days. Juan’s knowledge and experience of the patient reimbursement system coupled with his ability to lead and use available technology, greatly enhances the potential for reimbursement and revenue recovery.

John Gibson, National Director of Business Development
John has six years of sales management in the healthcare industry as a National Account Sales Representative which involved selling the various contingency fee based collection service to Healthcare Systems, Hospital CFO’s, VP’s of Revenue Cycle, and Business Office Directors.  With John’s exceptional communications skills and written abilities, he is highly motivated and a very goal oriented individual.  In his role, he directed, established, and maintained overall business development strategies with potential clients and potential business partners.  John earned his Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration both from Paramount California University.  He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.  John serves as a board member for the Tennessee Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). John is also an Athlete Ambassador and World Sport Chicago and holds free wrestling clinics for Chicago Public Schools students.

Greg Wallace, A/R Manger
Greg has over 10 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, serving 5 years as an A/R Supervisor for Parathon Recovery Services. He has also served as a legal department Supervisor for a team of collectors working on the self-pay end of the revenue cycle. Greg began his career in commercial collections. He is a highly accomplished and results-oriented Revenue Cycle Manager with a comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare field and extensive experience in providing leadership to healthcare delivery organizations. He possesses the proven ability to develop effective relationships with senior managers, medical staffs, and third party payers.

Bridgett Bromann, Denials Manager
Bridgett has more than 10 years of hospital revenue cycle experience with an emphasis primarily on clinical and technical claim denials. She excels in managing, analyzing and resolving both clinical and technical denials resourcefully and punctually. As a member of HFMA, she continues to expand her knowledge to improve and stay up to date with denial trends and topics to maximize Parathon Recovery Services’ performance for all clients. In her 6 years of supervisory experience, she has contributed to building a group of 30+ dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who are experts in Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers as well as denials ranging from clinical to technical. Her steadfast, compassionate and hardworking disposition has enabled her to develop strong partnerships with her clients as well as the executive team.

Melissa Gottschlich, Central Services Manager
Melissa is the Manager of Central Services at Parathon Recovery Services, LLC. She has worked in the Healthcare industry since 1987 in many different roles. After earning her degree from Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis, in Medical Record Administration, she began her career at a consulting company in their Claims Billing department. This began her journey into the Revenue Cycle process. She moved to the Hospital environment in 1995 and soon began supervising the Central Business Office Managed Care department. She was responsible for restructuring the entire practice of contract administration which included the Payer Responsibility Master file. To improve the practice further, Melissa moved to the front end of the Revenue Cycle process and managed the Patient Access departments which included Central Services, Patient Financial Services, Admitting and Registration at multiple sites. Melissa returned to the consulting aspect of the business in 2008 where she has been working with contract analysis and implementation. Melissa enjoys problem solving which is how her analytical skills have been honed.
